“Ronit is such a beautifully talented photographer. I am so happy she photographed my son’s mitzvah!”

What I Love About Photographing Mitzvahs

I still remember my own Bat Mitzvah. The brown corduroy dress I wore (it was in fashion, honest!), my nerves as I stood on the bimah, the sense of accomplishment and relief when it was over.

I love the way mitzvahs bring together ritual, family, community, tradition, and joy all in one day.

Through my documentary approach, I capture both traditional moments and the quieter scenes in between: the glance from a grandparent, the deep breath before the service begins, the laughter and connections that make each family unique.

From the sacred parts of the service to kids ducking as candy flies through the air, I document the day as it unfolds.

I photograph mitzvah celebrations across Chicago and surrounding areas including Oak Park, Evanston, Wilmette, Glencoe, Highland Park, and Deerfield.

Planning something outside the area? I’m happy to travel to you.

From the blog...

Candid photos.

I love taking them, and people tell me they love my candid photos too.

In this post, I share why these unposed moments are often the ones you'll treasure the most.
