Hi, I’m Ronit — a Chicago filmmaker turned photographer, drawn to candid, unscripted moments.

I photograph events, mitzvahs, weddings, and celebrations across Chicago and the surrounding suburbs.

With over 20 years as an award-winning documentary filmmaker, my work is rooted in storytelling, connection, and capturing what matters as it unfolds.

The moments go by fast. I’m there to catch them.

Ronit went above and beyond—we all look beautiful—and she captured many more wonderful moments than I'd imagined.

My guests loved her and loved the photos.

Definitely would hire her again.

During our engagement session, Ronit went above and beyond to include our son in the process and ensure he felt included

and part of the story.

We cannot recommend her enough!

INFO AND AWARDS

Ronit Bezalel: A Trailblazer with Two Decades of Excellence

With a career spanning over 20 years, Ronit Bezalel began as an award-winning documentary filmmaker before turning her focus to photography. Her career launched at the National Film Board of Canada, where she directed the beloved documentary When Shirley Met Florence. Her subsequent films, including Voices of Cabrini and 70 Acres in Chicago, have screened internationally and sparked meaningful conversations about social justice. For this work, Newsweek named her one of the "Top 10 Women of the 21st Century."

That same passion for honest storytelling now fuels her photography. Ronit specializes in capturing real life as it unfoldsemotional, unscripted, and deeply human. Her photography has appeared in Modern Luxury Magazine, Block Club Chicago, Gaper’s Block, and Windy City Times, and has been exhibited at The Center for Photojournalism, Christopher Art Gallery, Everybody's Coffee, and the PO Box Collective Gallery. Whether documenting a wedding, a family gathering, or a protest, she focuses on connection and the moments that matter most.

Based in Chicago, Ronit brings curiosity, empathy, and a deep love of storytelling to everything she creates.
